DisplayMyCard

Who it's for
Sports card collectors and sellers
The problem
A raw phone photo undersells a card someone is proud of, and costs real money when it's time to sell.
The outcome
A live product with paying subscribers. Upload a photo of your card, get back a clean, professional image ready to show off or list.

Born from my own collection. I wanted my cards to look as good on screen as they do in hand, so I built the tool that does it.

The Card Collector's Tax Playbook

Who it's for
Canadian collectors and dealers
The problem
Selling cards has tax consequences almost nobody in the hobby understands until it's too late.
The outcome
A free, plain-language guide written by a CPA who collects. What counts as income, what doesn't, and how to stay onside.

The overlap of my two worlds: public practice tax knowledge, written for the hobby I actually live in. More tax help for Canadian collectors lives at Slab Savvy CPA.

Websites for trades businesses

Who it's for
Local trades and service businesses
The problem
Most small-business sites are rented: the agency owns the domain, the hosting, and the relationship.
The outcome
Fast, modern sites the client owns outright from day one. Domain, hosting, and code, all in the business's name.

Built the way I’d want it as a business owner: no lock-in, no monthly ransom, no mystery.

Automation & internal tooling

Who it's for
My own businesses, and businesses like them
The problem
Hours disappear into work a machine should be doing: posting, sorting, chasing, re-typing.
The outcome
Systems that quietly save hours every week. Custom integrations, self-hosted assistants, and workflows that run while I sleep.

The unglamorous work that compounds. Every hour saved goes back into building.

Growing DisplayMyCard

New community gallery, better enhancement quality, and a steady stream of collectors turning into subscribers. The goal this season: make it the default way card sellers present their inventory.

Building this site in the open

This page is itself a project: designed, written, and shipped the same way everything else here gets made. Evenings, weekends, and a stubborn refusal to ship something generic.

Numbers by day. Software by night.

I'm a manager-level CPA in Canadian public practice. Years of owner-managed businesses, 130+ client corporations, and the thousand small realities of running a company that never make it into a textbook.

At night I build. DisplayMyCard started because I collect sports cards and wanted my own cards to look better online. It grew into a real product with paying subscribers. The automation, the tools, the client sites: same pattern every time. Find a real problem, build the fix, ship it.

Home is Sherwood Park, Alberta, with my wife. The rest of my time goes to jiu jitsu, the card collection that started all this, and a reading pile that grows faster than I can shrink it.

Working on something?

If you're working on something where a CPA who builds could help, I'd like to hear about it. No pitch decks needed. Two sentences is plenty.
